A race against extinction: Saving white abalone Dr. Kristin Aquilino from UC Davis Bodega Marine Lab will tell the story of the breeding program that now boasts more endangered white abalone in captivity than probably exist in the wild. In our after cafe we will participate in a density exercise that will demonstrate how this species reached the brink of extinction and how recovery efforts can bring them back.
